Re-establish Life Purpose with Black Youth
May Our Youth Flourish Into The Future
In my future work I want to ensure that there is always space & time for interacting with Black people and their children & youth. This is not just part of 'my job'. I had to figure out my life purpose when I was young, then do my best to do my best as a parent of two children. How do we help our children to be who they're meant to be in a difficult world?
In my recent work with black youth from Toronto, I noticed that their world, their scope of what is possible for them was an area much smaller than the tiny island I grew up on.
Initiatives by Government offer jobs, training, etc; but do not address the Re-Establishment of Life Purpose within the individual themselves.
